Russian opposition website Gulagu.net has reported that Russia may launch a nuclear strike on Ukraine in response to a recent drone attack on the Kremlin.

The website quoted a source who claimed that orders had been sent to air bases in Engels and Shaikivka to prepare TU-22Ms for departure, and that administrative buildings in Kiev could be hit by missiles overnight.

The source also revealed that nuclear weapons might be used for the first time, with at least two already located at one of the airfields. While it is uncertain whether a nuclear strike will occur, it is possible that Russia may launch a large-scale attack on Ukraine without the use of nuclear weapons.

The Russian defence ministry leadership has reportedly decided to take tough steps, and some Russian pro-war telegram channels have hinted at a potential military response.

This comes after the explosion on the Crimean bridge, which led to a massive strike on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. It remains to be seen whether the attack on the Kremlin will be used as a pretext for further military action.
